LITHUANIA SHARES WITH ALLIES EXPERIENCE GAINED IN AFGHANISTAN

On 29-30 June Former Head of Lithuanian Special Mission to Afghanistan and political representative of the Provincial Reconstruction Team Dainius Baublys during his visit to NATO Headquarters in Brussels shared with NATO officials and Allies experience gained in Lithuanian-led Provincial Reconstruction Team within a year.


Deputy permanent representatives to NATO of Denmark, Iceland, Italy, the U.S., Croatia and Poland showed interest in Lithuanian representative’s proposals on enhancement of the activities of the Alliance, Provincial Reconstruction Teams and international community in Afghanistan and on coordination of civil activities and information exchange of the Provincial Reconstruction Teams.

The remarks of Lithuanian representative will be taken into consideration during preparation of recommendations for further implementation of NATO operation in Afghanistan. The Allies admit that Lithuania is distinguished from other NATO countries by model interaction between civilians and the military and prompt information exchange.
