CLOSER COOPERATION URGED AMONG BALTIC AND CAUCASIAN COUNTRIES

Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus called for closer cooperation among the three Baltic nations and the three Caucasian nations of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, report the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At a meeting with the visiting Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan, Adamkus said he is willing to make efforts to boost the cooperation. On Armenia's bid to join the European Union, President Adamkus said Lithuania has always supported more active and coordination relations between the EU and Armenia.
