BAFL board members were in Washington, DC the first week of March to discuss Baltic issues. Co-President Alnis Briedis, Imants Leitis, Co-President Vija A. Turjanis, and Valdis Pavlovskis met with Samantha Spinney, Congressman Dennis Kucinich's Legislative Assisstant on March 2.
2006
Just before the 2005 BAFL Awards Banquet, BAFL members and supporters met with State Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Defense, Edgars Rinkevics and Lt. Karlis Lidaks, Assistant Military Attache at Latvia's Embassy in Washington DC. Also invited were and present were Andrejs Vijumsons, Director of the Political and Planning Dept., Latvia's Ministry of Defense an Airis Rikveilis, head of the Ministry's Public Relations Department. Political and defense issues were discussed.
